Giants Football

Very good move today signing Will Demps. Good player/Big hitter- but I think he is going to pick up the “pretty boy” tag that Sehorn left. The guy seems totally in love with himself. I have a funny feeling there will be plenty of Demps jerseys worn by females this season. Check out the pictures on the side of his website. A few football pictures and then his pretty boy modeling pictures come popping up.

Madison- I like this signing. Not as fast as he once was but a veteran that can step right in.

RW McQuarters- Not sure what the hell we were thinking. He will make Deloatch look like an all pro.

Still out there:

-Arrington- I think this will happen. Despite what his agent says there isn’t really a market for this guy. The Browns signed Willie McGinnest today so they are out. The Bengals are the only other team interested.

-Julian Peterson-SF LB- I would much rather have him but he wants big $$. Same agent as Arrington (Poston)

-Kerry Collins- rumor out there today that he could come back as Eli’s backup. Not sure how I feel about this. I like Kerry but think this would create a QB controversy

first off all, frank how did u know there was a will demps website with male model pics? Why does will demps even have a website? I think hes just ok, a good replacement for alexander but hes not going to make a big impact. Madison is a good veteran signing who can actually catch a ball unlike the guy hes replacing. RW, well if hes starting we’re in trouble, but hes a good nickel back bc he can make big plays. We also really need a OLB right now. I guess i can live with torbor/emmons but we def need depth with the loss of greisen and emmons injury problems.

PJ you caught me. I have been a secret member of the Will Demps fan club for 3 years now. Actually someone posted the website on a Giants meesage board yesterday and I thought it was pretty funny that the guy had his own web page. He is clearly coming to NY because it a huge market and he can be a poster boy for all of his other non football things. His 2006 salary is only 1.1 million. His salary for the next 3 years is 600,000 per.
-Arrington- I think this gets done today. I am not ready to go to war with Emmons and Torbor. Emmons has been hurt for 2 years now. I like Torbor but the jury is still out. Remember- we had Jay Foreman and Kevin Lewis starting against the Panthers. I agree we need depth but we need at least 1 more proven LB.
-Demps-Not a ballhawk but a 4 year starter who will not get caught out of position. He will provide deep help for our cb’s. Now Tim Lewis just needs to stop having our cb’s playing 12 yards off the line of scrimmage. Madison likes to bump at the line and is very physical. He can’t give a 10 yard cushion.
-RW- agreed- will be the nickel.

-Good website on the Giants salary cap. If you want to become a capologist this is a good place to start.

The problem is Tim Lewis. He is so predictible and his philosphy sucks. Every 3rd down- 7 man blitz, no one gets thru, CBs on an island and get out of position bc they play so far off, 20 yard completion, 1st down. It never fails. We have the 2 best DEs in the league, you think we wouldnt have to all out blitz every down to get some pressure. Thats why our pass defense and 3rd down defense was so bad. Look at his track record, as the def Coord at pittsburgh, other teams would just throw all day on them.

BTW, just realized kendrick clancy signed with arizona, we need a DT now too.

I don’t like Tim Lewis either. Clancy was a big loss for us. Brinson Buckner (Panthers) is available but he is 34 years old. If not we have to go DT early in the draft. Robbins makes alot of $$ for a guy that doesn’t play that much. DT and LB still need to be adressed over the next few months but we are close to the cap. I think you might see some restructuring of contracts over the next few weeks. Maybe Toomer, Eli or Luke P.

Aside from his pretty boy modeling website (spend alot of time there Frank?) I’m ok with Demps helping out. I saw a raven game or two last year early on where he looked alright. Certainly an upgrade.

What I really want to see is Lavar!

Kork- Too bad I’m at work. I just wrote a response and decided to delete it before posting. After Billy’s e-mail I have to watch what I write here.
