The Giants are now 5-4 after 4 straight losses, this last one to the Chargers in heart breaking fashion. The Chargers went 80 yards in a minute to score a TD and go up by 1 point. Coughlin challenged the defense and they couldnt pull through. The Giants played relatively well all game, but stupid little mistakes cost the game. Blown coverages, mishandled field goals, shanked punts, all little things that added up to a loss. This week the Giants have a bye week, so hopefully they can straighten their problems out.
Here are my 3 opinions on what to change for the 2nd half.
1- Run the ball more. Jacobs had 11 carries, not enough. They abandon the run way too fast
2- Less Shotgun. Can we please stop running shotgun 85% of the time?
3- Better disguised blitzes. Blitzes dont work when the offense knows where and when it is coming. You can tell what the Giants are doing every time they blitz.
As far as the tailgate goes, another awesome GNP tailgate was experienced by all. Danimal drank an entire gallon of water, all the girlfriends had a good time, the flag raising went well, and the weather was beautiful.
In other news, Lawrence Taylor, who walked thru the GNP tailgate 2 weeks ago, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. And in this mugshot he looks HAMMERED

LT’s beard looks solid. Emmitt Smith must have given him some just for men because his beard isn’t weird.
My observations:
1) Agree on the blitz
2) Don’t drop Tuck and Canty into coverage on a tight end. That’s a joke.
3) Osi and Tuck are not getting pressure.
4) Rocky Bernard has been non existant
5) Gilbride is back to the “Chuck and Duck”. If you don’t commit to the run then play action doesn’t work.
6) Get the play in to Eli sooner. We are breaking the huddle with 11 seconds on the play clock.
Things could get ugly down the stretch here.
