im very excited about this weeks 820 kickoff time and great upcoming tailgate. Heres an article about how teams and schools are trying to stop tailgating, and if this ever gets to the Giants I wont be going to the games anymore.

Giants vs Cardinals Sunday Night Football

Posted by Captain PJ
  4 Comments

After getting our clocks cleaned by the Saints its time to come back to Giants Stadium against last years Super Bowl losers, the Arizona Cardinals. Game starts at 8:20pm which is good news for us tailgaters. We are expecting a pretty big tailgate this Sunday night, remember the lots open at 3pm. We will be there earlier than that waiting on line to get our spot in lot 18c.

If we can pressure Kurt Warner we can force some turnovers and win this game. Like the Saints, the Cards have a very explosive offense so it will be interesting to see if the defense can improve their performance this week. CC Brown is still looking for his jock on the Superdome field and a missing persons report has been filled out for the entire defensive line.

5-0 Giants take on 4-0 Saints this Sunday

After manhandling the Oakland high school JV team, the Giants take on the Saints in New Orleans this Sunday. The last 3 weeks have been layups for the Giants going against inferior opponents, but this week will be a tough matchup. The Saints have an explosive offense with Drew Brees, Marques Colston, Shockey, etc, and this year they have been a playmaking defense with the addition of agressive defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and FS Darren Sharper. Darren Sharper has owned Eli Manning in his career, I think we all remember the pick 6’s against Eli when Sharper was in Minnesota. Should be a great game.

In other news, the game on 11/1 in Philly has been moved to 1pm, the same time as the Jets, so the NFL can put the Vikings/Packers game on at 4:15. The NFL claims they did this in case the Phillies made the World Series, but that is complete bull, they did it for the insane ratings ($$$$) that the Packers/Vikings game will draw in Favre’s return to Green Bay. Ratings at 4:15 are always higher than 1pm games because more of the country is awake. So NY fans got hosed.

In other news, webmaster Kork will be even slower on updates now that he has a dislocated shoulder from a HIGH FIVE gone wrong. A HIGH FIVE. Remember kids, always look at the elbow when high fiving.

3-0, up next Chiefs and Juicemans wedding

After throttling the Bucs, the Giants go to KC against another inferior team, the Chiefs. The Chiefs will most likely be without their most dangerous weapon WR Dwayne Bowe. In other news, Juiceman is getting married this weekend in what is being called the shocker of the year. Although we shouldve seen the signs in the last few months, like him always walking around with a leash, and bringing Pottery Barn catalogs to the games. So heres to a Giants win and a great wedding this weekend

SS Kenny Phillips to IR

Posted by Captain PJ
  No Comments

The Giants have placed starting SS Kenny Phillips on IR with a knee injury, and claimed Aaron Rouse off of waivers from Green Bay.

The Giants were hoping for a big year from the 2nd year safety out of Miami, but unfortunately his season has ended very prematurely.

Aaron Rouse was drafted in the 3rd round in 2007. He was mostly a backup for the last 2 years for Green Bay. He has good size at 6′4″ 223 lbs, but he is a converted Linebacker from college.

The only other safety on the roster besides FS Michael Johnson is C.C. Brown who was picked up in the offseason. He will most likely get the start this week at Tampa Bay.

Giants squeek by Cowgirls to go 2-0

2-0, both wins in the division, not a bad start. Even though the Giants got outplayed by the Cowgirls, who if not for Tony Homo Romo’s terrible play, the outcome wouldve been different. The Girls ran all over the Giants defense to the tune of 251 yards, which is insane. However the Giants D did produce 4 turnovers, including 1 score. Manningham and Steve Smith both stepped up to the tune of 10 catches each for 150 yards and 134 yards resspectively. Although this was good, the red zone offense was atrocious. If the Giants keep kicking FGs instead of touchdowns, we will not win as much as we can. For once, give me 3 runs, or at least some playaction passes around the goalline.

On the injury front Hixon hurt his knee early, no extent known, and Tuck left the game with a shoulder injury after Flozell Adams legwhipped him after Tuck beat him. Tuck was very upset about this after game. Lets hope its just a little strain and not a separation which could cost him more than a month of games. All in all not too bad, I’ll take a win any way I can get it. Jerry Jones tried to pick a winner also, but came up shorthanded

Tailgating and Giants 2009

Posted by Captain PJ
  4 Comments

Welcome back folks, for a brand new season of Giants football and tailgating. In just 2 short weeks the GNP will once again be in the Giants Stadium parking lot ready for action. The Giants are poised for a good year this year, with strong offensive and defensive line play, and a power running game. Eli is ready to step up with his near $100 million contract. The question marks on this team are the WRs, and the secondary. Hopefully a few of the WRs step up and provide some separation on the roster. In the secondary, which played well the last few years, I have my own concerns, with Aaron Ross out all preseason with a hamstring injury that will certainly drag well into the regular season, and no depth at safety. If Kenny Phillips or Michael Johnson (who isnt great anyway) get hurt, theres no one behind them. But we will see how it plays out.

Tailgating 2009-

  • New Spot- According to preseason scouts, our amazing 15 ft wide curb with shipping container in 18c has been paved over. We are looking at setting up in the same general lot, just on the curb closest to the street/highway, near the gate. Expect many arguments the first day from many tailgaters, as our scouts have told us of much reduced curb space.
  • New in the van for 2009- Fully integrated spare tire, telescopic flag pole, sound system, Kerry Collins wall of fame, heat/defroster. Due to the heat and defroster addition we are selling a mostly unused 55 gallon drum of anti-fog for the windshield.
  • 9/13/09 vs Washington- Expect over 20 people for the first tailgate, including fan favorite BiLLMaTiC who will be signing autographs for the kids. Calls put into Super Creep and Dr Geek have yet to be returned
